Ally MacLean
Senior Project Architect | Richmond, VA

Ally graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelors in Architecture, and received both her Masters of Architecture and Business Administration from the University of Oregon. She has 10 years of experience in a wide range of commercial architecture projects at various scales, including retail, mixed-use, workplace and historic rehabilitation.

She is a lead project architect at ENV’s Richmond office, and is a licensed architect in Virginia.

Ally enjoys the unique combination of precision and creativity that spatial design demands, and looks forward to each project as an opportunity to learn through comprehensive research and the iterative process. She exercises her attention to detail to bring construction drawings to life and deliver beautiful, thoughtfully designed spaces for every client.

Anne Henkel
Administrative Coordinator | Richmond, VA

A Navy Junior, Anne moved frequently growing up, but calls Virginia her home.  She is proud to have attended both of Mr. Jefferson’s institutions of higher learning:  the College of William and Mary for an undergraduate degree in business and the Darden School at U.Va. for her MBA.

Anne brings a varied skill set which she applies to her role as the Administrative Coordinator of the Virginia office. Her experience includes commercial real estate leasing and asset management with CBRE and law firm administration, a seemingly odd combination of new business development and office efficiencies.

As an empty nester, Anne is the proud mother of two grown men, one of whom has given her the highlight of her life, new baby Holly born in January of 2022. She is looking to spend this new phase doing activities with old friends, making new ones, traveling, and getting in shape!!

Caitlin McLean
Intern – Interior Design | Richmond, VA

Caitlin is a second-year graduate student at Virginia Commonwealth University, pursuing her Masters in Interior Design. After 5 years of working at an advertising agency in Washington, D.C., she made the decision to switch careers to follow her passion for design.

In her free time, Caitlin likes walking the Capital Trail with her dog, exploring Richmond’s restaurant scene, and reading.

Derek McCalla
Senior Project Architect | Richmond, VA

Derek is a licensed Architect who grew up in Richmond and developed a passion for design and architecture at an early age. He graduated from Virginia Tech in 2012 with a Bachelor of Architecture degree. He has 10+ years of experience in the architecture and construction field.

Over the last decade, he has worked on a variety of projects ranging from renovations to additions to new construction and a wide variety of building types. He has developed a keen eye for the details in design and construction, as well as provided well designed spaces.

As a father of two young girls, he loves spending time with his family, watching football or hockey, and playing chess.

Jennifer Boyd
Senior Project Designer | Richmond, VA

Jennifer is a Virginia native who developed a passion for design and construction from a young age. She graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Interior Design and went on to work for firms in Washington D.C. and Boston. She has a variety of experience on workplace design and strategy projects of all scales and industry sectors.

Jennifer is a Certified Interior Designer in ENV’s Richmond office. She enjoys being a part of a collaborative design team, working with clients, and exploring new technologies that can enhance the design process. Outside of work, Jennifer likes getting out on her paddle board, traveling, and painting.

Joshua Staples
Intern | Richmond, VA

Joshua is a senior at Virginia Commonwealth University, pursuing his BFA in Interior Design with an Art History minor. He has recently received his credentials as LEED Green Associate and will continue seeking higher education.

Ever since Josh was young, he was always creating and experimenting with design through painting and other forms of mediums. Being native to Virginia and a self-proclaimed “history buff,” his passion for design came from his love of history and architecture and the support of his family as he studied architecture in his local area.

When it comes to Josh’s free time, he loves exploring, experimenting with cooking, reading, and developing abstract paintings.

Kimberly Lloyd
Project Designer | Richmond, VA

Born and raised in the Roanoke Valley, Kimberly made her way to Richmond to pursue her degree in Interior Design from Virginia Commonwealth University. She has called Richmond her home ever since. Kimberly is a Certified Interior Designer and a LEED Accredited Professional.

Working for over a decade in commercial interior design, her experience includes Corporate Interiors, Historic Renovation and Adaptive Reuse, Multi-family Housing, and Higher Education. She works closely with her clients to accurately assess their needs, anticipates future accommodations, and uses that knowledge along with industry trends to create inspirational and functional spaces. Kimberly’s keen eye for precision and graphic skills are her greatest strengths and contribute importantly to each project’s success.

Kimberly and her husband are parents to two busy preschoolers and a golden retriever. They enjoy VCU basketball, summer evenings at the pool, and socializing with their friends in the city’s Near West End.

Laura Marcus-Plant
Principal | Richmond, VA

Laura is a certified interior designer and Virginia native who graduated cum laude from Virginia Commonwealth University with a BFA in Interior Design. After working in Washington, DC with a portfolio of federal and corporate clients, she moved to New York City where she served as an Associate Interior Designer for a decade at an internationally renowned firm.

Laura honed a deep expertise in workplace design through projects for Fortune 500 companies in the international banking, fashion, advertising, and corporate sectors. She received national and international awards for design excellence, and served on the Board of Directors for the New York Office of Professions for Interior Designers.

Laura is recognized for her strengths in space planning and building analytics, and frequently consults with companies seeking to make wise real estate decisions. Now Laura brings over twenty years of experience to co-leading ENV’s Richmond, Virginia office.

Stuart Ingram
Junior Architect | Richmond, VA

In earning her bachelor’s degree in architecture at the University of Virginia, Stuart harnessed her natural love of design to develop advanced technical skills in both traditional and cutting-edge spatial theorizing. She is systematic, persistent, organized, and passionate about the world of craft.

Stuart’s favorite part about design is studying the relationship between the built environment and its effects on human emotion and activity. Natural and designed beauty is all around us, it affects us, and there is plenty of it to enjoy here in Richmond.

Stuart is a maker in many senses of the word. If she is not at work, she is likely painting, woodworking, sewing, cooking, or observing wonderful works of design made by others. She likes to live life by the motto: why not see beautiful things?

Whitney Campbell
Principal | Richmond, VA

Whitney is a registered architect (AIA), certified interior designer (CID/NCIDQ), and LEED accredited professional. Her love of design began early, and has grown into a lifelong passion. She graduated from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a degree in Interior Architecture. Her range of experience from corporate interiors, government agencies, developers, and large financial institutions brings vast knowledge to all her projects.

Several of Whitney’s designs have won awards in the Virginia region; her pursuit of excellence is relentless. A self-professed “lighting nerd”, her focus on architectural lighting greatly enhances her work and creates unique experiences for her clients.

As a project manager, she’ll help guide you through a seamless construction process and lead you every step of the way. While working at ENV in New York City, Whitney was impressed with the culture and unique talent and is now co-leading ENV in Richmond, VA.

A mom of three, Whitney enjoys urban living in historic homes in Richmond City, as well as sarcasm, fashion, and a local brew on the river.
