ZOZO
ZOZO’s is a new, 935 SF whimsical specialty store to be added to the directory of units at Detroit Metro Airport. It’s location within the terminal and pre-existing curved storefront did present its challenges. ENV needed to be creative with the design to both respects the airport standards while maintaining the integrity of the brand. The storefront was re-finished in a wood veneer, stained to compliment the elements of the concourse plaza that it faced onto. The decorative columns flanking the entrance were stained green and the illuminated custom signage above highlight the entryway and welcome travelers into the world of color and merchandise within. Inside the store, color can found on all the walls and in the new millwork which can also be seen from the concourse through the large glass storefront windows on the front and side of the unit. The choice of carpet flooring acts both aesthetically and responds to the airport’s concern for noise absorption, and the directional pattern was chosen to direct passengers from the entrance thru to the back of the store.
